Driver Pricing Matrix

Our system offers two distinct pricing categories, giving you the flexibility to choose the best approach for your business needs. These categories are Driver Pricing and Zone Driver Pricing.

A. Driver Pricing

 
Here, we offer flexible pricing options for driver invoicing, allowing you to choose and customize the best method for your needs: Base Fee + Mileage, Flat Rate, Percentage of Revenue and Surge Pricing (Optional).
 

A.1 Base Fee + Mileage

  1. This pricing method includes a fixed base fee, plus charges based on the mileage of the trip. Select this if you prefer charges to reflect both the starting fee and the distance traveled.
  2. If the base admin enables the ‘Base Fee + Mileage’ option for Invoice Pricing, they will need to update the following details:
    • Select Range: Choose a distance range for pricing.
    • Base Price: Define the base price for the selected range.
    • Per Mile Rate: Set the per mile rate for the selected range.
  3. Auto-Generated Infinite Range: Once the base admin defines the first range, the system will automatically generate an infinite range based on the last defined range.     

Example 1: If the first range is 0-20 miles, the system will create an infinite range as 20 miles and above. 

Example 2: If the last defined range is 20-40 miles, the system will create an infinite range as 40 miles and above.

Example Corporate Driver Pricing Setup:

  • First Range: 0-20 miles at a base rate of $10 and per mile rate of $5. 
  • Second Range: 20-40 miles at a base rate of $20 and per mile rate of $10. 
  • Infinite Range: 40 miles and above at a base rate of $50 and per mile rate of $15.   

Example Corporate Driver Trip pricing Calculations

  1. Case 1: If the trip distance is 15 miles:
    • The distance falls within the first range (0-20 miles), with a base rate of $10 and a per mile rate of $5.
    • The trip invoice cost will be: Base rate ($10) + (15 miles × $5) = $85.
  2. Case 2: If the trip distance is 25 miles:  The pricing will be calculated based on the second range (20-40 miles): Base rate ($20) + (25 miles × $10) = $270. 
  3. Case 3: If the trip distance is 45 miles:  The pricing will be calculated based on the infinite range (40 miles & above): Base rate ($50) + (45 miles × $15) = $725. 

Note: The base admin will be able to define the Base Price and Per Mile Rate next to each defined distance range.

A.2 Flat Rate

  1. Flat Rate Pricing involves charging a single, predetermined fee for a trip, regardless of the distance or time taken. This pricing method simplifies invoicing by applying a fixed cost for each trip.
  2. The base admin has the option to enable or disable this pricing type based on their requirements. Enabling the ‘Flat Rate’ pricing type allows users to define a ‘Flat Amount Value ($X)’, which will be used to generate the base invoices for trips.

Example: If the base admin sets the flat rate to $100 for the corporate account, the system will calculate the invoice cost for each trip associated with that account as a flat $100, regardless of the trip's distance or time. Refer to screenshot below:

A.3 Percentage of Revenue

  1. Enabling the "Percentage of Revenue" pricing type: When this pricing type is enabled, the admin will be able to define the percentage of revenue to be applied. This percentage will be used to calculate the driver pricing based on the Estimated Revenue (Invoice Pricing) of trip.
  2. It’s available for both Global Corporate Accounts and Local Corporate Accounts, but the calculation method varies depending on the type of account:
    • Global Corporate Account: For global accounts, the percentage of revenue refers to a portion of the Estimated Revenue for the trip. This estimated revenue is received from billing or MAS. If you choose a percentage (X%), the system will calculate the driver’s earnings as X% of the estimated revenue from the billing.
    • Local Corporate Account: For local accounts, the percentage of revenue is based on the amount calculated in the Invoice Price Matrix for the trip. If the percentage (X%) is enabled, the system will calculate the driver’s earnings as X% of the total amount calculated in the invoice price matrix.

 
Additionally, we offer Surge Pricing, which is optional and can be added on top of either the Base Fee + Mileage or Flat Rate pricing methods:
 
  1. Enabling Surge Pricing: To use Surge Pricing, you must first enable at least one of the following: "Variable Pricing" (Base Fee + Mileage) or "Flat Rate."
  2. Surge Pricing can be set as: 
    • Flat Rate: A fixed amount added to your default pricing (either Variable Pricing or Flat Rate). For example, your price might become: [Default Pricing + Surge Pricing (Flat Rate)].
    • Percentage: An increase based on a percentage of the final trip cost. For example, your price might become: [Default Pricing + Surge Pricing (Percentage)].
  3.  Surge Pricing Slot Categories: Surge Pricing will be applied using two slot categories – Weekly Slots and Date-   Specific Slots.   
  4.  Weekly Slots:
    • Global Time Slots: The base admin can define global time slots independently of specific date ranges. Surge pricing will apply to any trip that falls within these time slots, regardless of the specific date.
    • Multiple Global Time Slots: The admin can define multiple time slots for each day. For example, the admin could set surge pricing for Sunday between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, each with its own pricing.
    • Single Time Slot: The admin can define a single time slot for a selected day by specifying a Start Time and End Time and set a surge price (either Percentage or Flat) for that slot.                                          
  5. Specific Date Slots:
    • Specific Date Slots allow surge pricing to be defined for a particular date or a selected date range.
    • Define Surge Pricing for Specific Dates: By clicking the ‘Add Date-Specific Hours’ button, the admin can set surge pricing (either Flat Rate or Percentage) for a specific date or date range.
    • Multiple Time Slots for a Specific Date: The admin can define multiple time slots for the same date or date range (e.g., 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM). Each time slot can have its own surge price (either Percentage or Flat).

Note: The surge pricing defined for Specific Date Slots will override the surge pricing defined for Weekly Slots. For example: If Weekly Slots are set from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at $50, but the admin defines a Specific Date Slot from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a particular day at $60, the system will apply the $60 surge pricing for that specific date, overriding the weekly rate. 

 
Points to remember:
  1. Create Zones: When zones are created at the Corporate Account level, the system will automatically generate the Zone Matrix based on the zones defined for that specific corporate account. This generated Zone Matrix will be directly linked to the corresponding pricing configurations for that corporate account, including: Invoice Pricing Matrix and Driver Pricing Matrix. 
  2. Define Zones: Start by defining your zones based on boroughs and zip codes. You have full control over the number of zones and their specific geographic areas.
  3. Zone Mapping Generation: Once the zones are defined, the system automatically generates the zone mapping. For example, if you define 5 zones, the system will create 25 combinations of zone mappings. These mappings represent the various possible pairings of zones for trips.
  4. Customizable Pricing: You can set specific pricing for each zone combination. This allows you to tailor the pricing structure to reflect the unique costs associated with each trip, including distance, time, or other factors.
  5. Driver Invoicing: The system will use these zone mappings to calculate the pricing for driver invoicing. Based on the defined pricing rules, each trip will be invoiced according to the relevant zone combination.
  6. Flexible Pricing Methods: Choose and customize the best pricing method that fits your needs. Whether you prefer a Base Fee + Mileage, Flat Rate, or optional surge pricing, our system allows you to configure your pricing structure efficiently. Refer to the pricing methods mentioned above.

B. Zone Driver Pricing

 
Our pricing system offers flexibility and customization based on your defined zones. By using boroughs and zip codes, you can create specific zones that suit your operational needs. Here’s how it works:
 
  1. Create Zones: When zones are created at the Corporate Account level, the system will automatically generate the Zone Matrix based on the zones defined for that specific corporate account. This generated Zone Matrix will be directly linked to the corresponding pricing configurations for that corporate account, including: Invoice Pricing Matrix and Driver Pricing Matrix. 
  2. Define Zones: Start by defining your zones based on boroughs and zip codes. You have full control over the number of zones and their specific geographic areas.
  3. Zone Mapping Generation: Once the zones are defined, the system automatically generates the zone mapping. For example, if you define 5 zones, the system will create 25 combinations of zone mappings. These mappings represent the various possible pairings of zones for trips.
  4. Customizable Pricing: You can set specific pricing for each zone combination. This allows you to tailor the pricing structure to reflect the unique costs associated with each trip, including distance, time, or other factors.
  5. Driver Invoicing: The system will use these zone mappings to calculate the pricing for driver invoicing. Based on the defined pricing rules, each trip will be invoiced according to the relevant zone combination.
  6. Flexible Pricing Methods: Choose and customize the best pricing method that fits your needs. Whether you prefer a Base Fee + Mileage, Flat Rate, or optional surge pricing, our system allows you to configure your pricing structure efficiently. Refer to the pricing methods mentioned above.
Points to remember:
In cases where the system cannot find a zip code associated with the trip address in the defined zone mappings, it will follow a predefined fallback process to determine the correct pricing. Here's how the system handles such situations:
 
  • No Match in Defined Zone Mappings: If the system does not find the trip’s zip code in the defined zone mappings, it will first attempt to retrieve the pricing from the Corporate Driver Pricing associated with the corporate account tied to the trip.
  • No Corporate Invoice Pricing Defined: If the Corporate Driver Pricing is not defined/disabled in the associated corporate account, the system will then automatically fall back to the Global Price Configuration to find the applicable pricing.
  • Global Zone Invoice Pricing Enabled: If Global Zone Driver Pricing is enabled, the system will attempt to retrieve the pricing from the global zone settings. If the relevant zip code for the trip is not found within the global zone mappings, the system will proceed to the final fallback.
  • Final Fallback – Global Driver Pricing: If the trip’s zip code is still not found in the global zone settings, the system will ultimately use the Global Driver Pricing for the trip's driver cost calculation, ensuring that a valid pricing is always applied.
  • Note: This pricing will be applied to all trips booked after you save your changes.
